I am a versatile and skilled journalism student at Central State University renowned on campus for my writing. I am a confident, responsible, and hard working team player who believes that success is the best revenge.      

          Over the last four years, I have worked hard both in and out of the classroom. I was the Junior Class Scholar in the Journalism and Digital Media program in 2020, and I currently have  3.7 grade point average. The journalism program has awarded me its Excellence in Writing Award, its Spirit Award, and the JG Chinwah Memorial Scholarship.  I am currently treasurer of the Marauder Communications Council, a student group in the journalism program. 

          My past work experiences have prepared me well for the journalism field. I tutored students in narrative and news writing, and revised and edited their stories. Also, I worked as a staff writer with the Springfield News-Sun, where I reported and wrote stories of local interest. Additionally, I worked with CSU’s public relations office and was contributing writing for its Golden Torch newspaper. In 2019, my radio production class created a documentary on the unsung heroes of the 1913 Dayton Flood. I was head writer, researcher, editor, interviewer, and narrator of the production. 

          When you repeatedly do something, you begin to get better at it until it becomes a skill. I was able to learn some new skills during internships, jobs, and during class sessions. Some of these include: Researching, Interviewing, News Writing & Editing, Social Media Management, Public Relations, Photography, Adobe Photoshop, Blogging, and more. 

          Following my scholastic journey, I aspire to become a basketball/football sports analyst with a major company. My passion for sports, knowledge of the games, journalism experience, and my diversity could be a great fit for any organization.

          In addition, I dream to become a fiction author, publishing a book of numerous short stories. My love for writing fiction and being creative would be a great avenue to take in the future. I also aim to become a script writer with a well-known film organization. In my spare time I write action and drama screenplays.

          Finally, I aspire to invest into myself and my future as an entrepreneur. I’m currently an independent business owner with Amway, learning and honing new business skills as I progress. In a few years, I plan to get into franchising and real estate. I am very teachable; and always ready to work and learn where I lack knowledge or experience so that I can become an all-around professional.
